Dining Room Makeover: Update

My New Year's Resolution was to complete some projects around our house. After trying to pull all of my thoughts together I felt like my head was spinning. We have so many projects going on I cannot stay focused on one long enough to make any progress.  I was lucky enough to get some much needed help from Jamie, you know, The Jamie from isuwannee. We sat down and in one hour we had made a clear plan. We were able to repurpose and prioritize. Honestly, I think most people in my situation are just too intimidated to get some help. You have no budget, you buy the majority of your furniture on Craigslist and your house may happen to smell like two huge wet dogs. You read blogs and home decor magazines but nothing really seems attainable. Sound familiar? I walked away from my session with Jamie and  felt really excited compared to my normal overwhelmed, I quit, FML.

The Plan:
I have slowly been buying things on Craigslist over the past year. I was able to find a table, chairs, and chandelier. I found this rug on Rugs USA(they always have sales and coupon codes).

I am saved up for wallpaper panels from Griffin and Wong.
Jamie gave me the idea for adding grass cloth wallpaper and painting the ceiling. It will add some texture and won't break the bank.

  3. This is going to be gorgeous. That is great advice you gave on having the courage to sit down with a designer/friend and hash out the project. It makes sense that if everyone is working with the same budget, the outcomes will be spectacular. Cant wait to see the finished project! You can do it!

  4. Love it!!! What color will the ceiling be? My in-laws just redid their kitchen- again (!) and painted the ceiling this beautiful beige color in a satin finish! It is GORGEOUS!! I'm thinking about doing a satin light grey on our bedroom ceilings....
