Wallpaper Files: Waverly Lightfoot Mural

It is no secret I have an obsession with chinoiserie wallpaper. It gives me my fix for color without feeling trendy. I remember the first time I saw Kate Townsend's colorful bathroom in Lonny. It was 2010. I had just discovered blogs and was in the process of buying my first house. I still cared what my husband thought about decorating and knew this girly paper would not make it into my house anytime soon.

Fast forward to present day. We have been in our house for 5 years and this paper has stood the test of time with me. As far as Doug goes, he has grown wise in his old age and let me decorate however I want. I don't tell him how to fish.

I finally am the proud owner of a mural. The mural looks nothing like the Waverly website. It is quite stunning in person. I cannot wait to get it on a wall and see it in all of its glory.

This mural is discontinued. I purchased what seems to be the last of the stock. I have a couple extra left if anyone is interested. It is 15 ft. long and would look stunning in a powder room or bedroom. Email me at jessicaepley@gmail.com.

March Style Guide

I have been coveting an original piece from NGS for since I discovered Kristin on Instagram. The colors and shapes draw me in every time. They even offer some affordable minis for the new collector.

Opal Everything
I have had an obsession with opals for as long as I can remember. My mom had a dainty one I would wear all the time when I was little. Will's birthstone happens to be an opal. Lucky me him. My favorite sources are Mociun and Wwake

The Perfect Nude Sandal
I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of strappy nude sandals. A classic staple to get me through wedding season.

J Crew New Arrivals
I am loving the nude colors with pops of Tidewater blue.

4 Months

William is 4 months old. He weighs 16.3 lbs and is 25 inches long. New tricks include- rolling side to side and flipping from his stomach to his back. His favorite things are his dogs, his reflection and Johnny Cash.

We had his 4 month check up and we were told we can no longer wait in the 'Newborn' section. Someone make time slow down.

Things

Last week was sort of like...
The Turtle is going through some sort of growth spurt and acting like a maniac. He cannot get enough milk.
That mixed with severe cabin fever after a week of snow/ice/no power has me feeling a little stir crazy.
Luckily, it was nothing a glass of wine and a hair cut could not solve.  I have only had one haircut in over a year. Things were getting out of control.

I went in wanting this. I quickly came to my senses. The last thing I need to do is go platinum blonde with a 4 month old. Ain't nobody got time for that (or money).

It turned out more like a Mom lob. This picture was meant for my BFF only, but I have lost all dignity since having a child. It is a free for all at this point.

I cannot physically restrain myself from posting baby pictures. He will not stop doing cute things.

I think we are all dreaming of warmer weather. I love the idea of a swing for our screened porch. This one from Ballard is good looking and on sale.

I am still messing around with ideas for my front room. Hopefully, we will start painting this week.

More adventures in cooking. I made Drunken Spaghetti, a favorite dish from our Italy trip two years ago.
