Almost here..

A while back, May 8th to be exact, Doug and I decided that we are going to take a break from "house stuff". No painting, moving furniture, no hanging pictures. Nada. I think we were both burnt out and needed to take a step back and have some fun this summer. We decided that we would get back in the swing of things and finish some projects after July 4th. Well it is almost here and I have so many projects.

Never Never Land

This weekend I am leaving town for a wedding at The Biltmore House in Asheville NC.

While there I plan on going to a little slice of Heaven, also known as the J Crew Distribution Center. This place is not easy to find and appears to be of the beaten path. In this magical place I hear there are things just as mythical as unicorns such as dresses for $20 dollars and J Crew flats 80% off.

{That is a picture of what I will look like when I come back}

I will let you know if this place lives up to it's reputation.

More Rugs

I am constantly looking for rugs. We live in a house with no rugs and no window treatments. One reason being I cannot commit to big purchases like rugs and curtains. The other reason is I am poor and that ish is expensive. I do not know many state employees who rock a Madeline Weinrib rug in the their living room.

All of them are from the same place-- HERE!

Any favorites for this room?

these are insane.

Bird Watching

I cannot get over these prints featured in Lonny Mag. I have had a huge crush on the them since they featured Bunny's beach house.

These are some good looking birds. Compliments of Z Gallerie.

WWYD

What would you do? I cannot make decisions. Story of my life.
Buy the affordable fabric that you like okay or splurge on the really expensive fabric you dream about night and day?

Which one do yall like?

He's backkkkkkk...

this is how you know Hank has been safely returned to his rightful owner.

Obviously the 3 week vacation at the grandparents house did him no good.

Really wish I would have noticed this before I came to work. It does not help that less than a week ago we had a "Dress Code" reminder that "torn and tattered" clothes are not acceptable.

True Life

Okay, I have a confession. Lately I have been getting embarrassed when someone tells me they read my blog. Most people who have blogs are really good at something. I, on the other hand am just really bored and miss living with girls. Doug won't listen to me every 5 seconds when I see something cute on the Internet. So instead of the typical "look at how cute my house is" post I decided to show real life.

For instance, meet the first refrigerator ever made.

This is a Taylor Swift poster that is still hanging over our bed.

Unlike the rest of the house I actually did this myself. I am not going to lie and say I think this is cute. I just didn't have the heart to tell Doug to stop painting and did not have the cash flow to buy a bed that could fit an adult male in it.

Disclaimer: I am not complaining. I love every ugly inch of my house because I know I have more fun projects ahead of me. Sometimes it is just nice to see a little bit of true life. Hopefully these will be "the before" pictures until we start more projects.
