Sources

1- My favorite part of the dining room is the  wallpaper suggested by Jamie. The Furbish ladies helped me pick out the perfect Thibaut grass cloth. It made a world of difference! Also, if anyone is thinking about putting up some paper I would be happy to send you my wallpaper guy. He did a phenomenal job!
2- The chinoiserie panels are from Griffin and Wong. They were a gift from my husband. I had the best experience working with Griffin and Wong! They let you customize everything down to the colors of the flowers and number of birds.
3- Curtain rods are Pottery Barn. They are on special in the store ONLY!
4- The curtains are from Overstock. I decided to go with 2 panels on each side to make them more full.
5- The chandy is from an estate sale.
6- The rug is Rugs USA. I have had it for about 2 years. Quality is great for the price. They always have great coupon codes too!
7- Dining Room Set- Craigslist

There you have it. I had gotten quite a few emails and figured it would just be easier to put it in a post. I really try to answer emails and am not a jerk.

Italy in the Fall...

Last week Doug and I purchased plane tickets to travel to Italy in October. We are going with another couple, which makes it that more exciting. Over the past couple years we have really missed out on traveling. There was a wedding, a house, renovations, jobs. We are finally at a place where we can take a little time for ourselves and actually live. I am counting down the days. Now here is where you come in my amazing, world travleing blog friends, what are your suggestions? What are your favorite parts of Italy? Any tips? Books? Tell me everything!

Currently Obsessed: Transitional Classics

I feel like summer is quickly coming to an end and it is still July!
Maybe it is all of the amazing new fall stuff coming out. I am feeling a little more transitional. Here are some of my favorite basics that can thrive in any season.

Blythe Blouse: The perfect silk blouse. I own every color. It looks great with a pencil skirt for work or dressed down in skinny jeans once it cools off.
J Brand Mid Rise Skinnies: J Brand is my favorite denim. These are super soft and have a great fit.
Zara Shopper: Go buy this bag now! I get more compliments on this bag than any bag I have ever owned. The color is perfect for summer or fall.
Poppy King for J Crew: I am not going to lie. I cannot pull of red lipstick. Someone who can should get this amazing color.
Madewell Leopard flats: I am on a Madewell shoe kick. They have some of my favorites!

Splurge vs. Steal

In love with these bamboo hoops that are on major sale!

Jewelry Armoire Update + Bedroom Nook

Leigh Viner Print/Hyla Dewitt Gia/Calico Corners X Bench/Society Social Cocktail Ring/Jewelry Armoire

The hunt for a jewelry armoire has finally come to an end. Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions.
Home Decorators is having a sale on all of their organization furniture and free shipping. I figured if I find some new brass knobs it may look less preteen.

It's Back!

We got these lamps a few years ago and they sold out with a quickness...

They are still some of my favorites. It looks like they brought them back. Good call.
It is hard to find a good looking lamp under $200 these days.

The Sideboard

I got a little excited and showed off my dining room wallpaper panels.  I am head over heels in love with them. Every time I walk past them I get giddy. I cannot thank my sweet husband enough for the best birthday present ever! It is one of my very few splurges in our home and I do not regret it for a second.

In a last minute decision I changed the entire lay out of the dining room and now I am in the market for a new sideboard. Yay, more money to spend. I am so ready to actually complete a project but I know patience is important when trying to find something affordable. Raleigh peeps, keep me in mind in your shopping adventures :)

Thanks to Rachel for introducing me to a new blog. I ended up wasting my entire night going through every picture. Blogger people problems.

Weekend Recap

Whenever my husband decides to go out of town hunting/fishing I do a little hunting of my own.
Raleigh people, have you heard of A Single Splash of Lime? Sarah has some fun finds and her prices are amazing. Another one of my favorite finds came from her. I snagged this darling convex federal mirror.

Everyone needs a tortoise necklace

Sunday night we had a fancy shmancy dinner party for my mother-in-law and her sister (my aunt-in-law?)'s birthdays!

I do not think this needs and explanation.

Andddd finally...
After a hellish Monday I got home to this. It made my day. I cannot wait to see my most stylish friend walk down the aisle with one of the best guys I know.

Things are getting fancy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Organizing Jewelry

I need your help. I am in the process of organizing our bedroom. While cleaning, I noticed I have tons of jewelry that I never wear mainly, because I can never find anything. In a perfect world I would have a huge walk in closet where I could organize everything. Back to reality, my necklaces are on door knobs and there is junk everywhere.

My current situation looks a lot like this. Lots of do-dads in small Anthropologie bowls. This picture makes it look super organized and great. Not the case. I have like 10 bowls and nothing is organized and it looks like a hot mess.

I wish things were looking more like this. I am all for displaying a few fun baubles. No one wants to see every piece of jewelry you own. Things start to look messy.

So this is where you come in. I need a jewelry armoire. I feel like these are so JC Penny's circa 2002. It is really hard to find something not atrocious. I am trying to keep an open mind and think I can change the hardware, but this is no easy task. So amazing bloggers where can I find a jewelry box?

Weekend Recap

True story, I am a mirror hoarder.

I randomly came across this convex starburst mirror from Home Depot this weekend. It is darling in person and only $35.

Friday night we went to my favorite place in Raleigh, Calavera.  Anyone have a friend who can get me the details of the Jalapeno and Cilantro Margarita? I am obsessed and it is turning into a problem.

It was 105 degrees this weekend so we took the puppies swimming.

That's about it. A little hoarding, drinking and swimming.

Friday Favorites

This has officially been the longest. week. ever. Evidently, I missed the memo that when July 4th is on a Wednesday everyone takes off the whole week. So while everyone and their mother was at the beach I was sitting staring at a computer, wishing I was at the beach. I found quite of few things on the interwebs that caught my eye.

I could live here.

My next sofa will have piping.

It will probably go in my future beach house that will look like this.

Where I will host fabulous outdoor dinner parties.

And read lots of books under my lemon tree. Life goal: Get a lemon tree and keep it alive.

1/2/3/4/5

This is what happens when you are at work and everyone else is at the beach.

Would you still be my friend if...

I wore a jean vest?

1/2/3

I have figured the only way to get away with a denim vest is by pairing it with a super frilly, flirty dress. I prefer florals.  For Raleigh, this is pretty aggressive. Would you rock a jean vest?

Stuck

I love the 4th of July like I love leopard print, but somehow I got stuck in Raleigh this year. Luckily, I have a few friends who are as lame as I am and we are making a day of tomorrow.

Tonight we are finally getting around to hanging these wallpaper panels that have been sitting my guest bedroom for about 6 months. I am also going to clean  out our carport. Can you say hoarder? If anyone is looking for some furniture make sure and check back next week.

Favorite Scent: Jo Malone

I have always been a huge fragrance person. Since I was young I have always had a collection of perfume.  Over the past year, I have developed a slight obsession for Jo Malone. This weekend I tried a new scent Nectarine Blossom & Honey.  If you are not familiar, you can mix their scents and create your own fragrance. I love layering the Nectarine Blossom & Honey with the Orange Blossom Lotion. Do you have any favorites?

Weekend Recap

Flowers from Thursday night Bunko.

I am working on my cooking skills. It is not something I enjoy doing. I do not have a lot of patience and I am really bad at timing things out. Tonight I cooked Almond Encrusted Salmon. I have to say, I am really proud of myself.

Hank and Roy waiting to get their teeth brushed.

Tuesday I went to a Wine and Design class. My friend Rachel arranged an abstract class. Needless to say, I will not be quitting my day job.
