Update- New House

Since my last post we have made a major life change. We left our little ranch that we put our blood, sweat and tears into for another fixer upper. I went back through my posts and saw this I wrote back in June.  It was about the house we ended up buying. After I wrote this post, the house went on the market. It sat for a while. In the meantime, we went under contract on two other houses that ended up not working out. This house was always in the back of my head.

There is a lot of good. I am a sucker for a Williamsburg colonial. I see dormers and dentil molding- I melt. It is on a cul-de-sac in a great school district.  Most importantly, it really feels like home to us.
There is a beautiful formal living room and it has old pine floors.

With the good, comes some bad. Like knotty pine walls...

 green carpet...

 original appliances from the 60's.

We have already done so much to make it feel like home. I cannot wait to share our projects with you.

  12. What a fine-looking house you've got there! The house seems well-lived; its interiors have ample lighting, and fully realized with all the quirky lamps and furniture. I'm sure someone will eventually come and buy it, if it hasn’t been sold already. Cheers!

  13. It can be hard to leave a place that’s full of memories, but it’s great that you are now settling in to your new gorgeous house. You did a great job in decorating it, as everything looks fantastic! Cheers!

  14. That is such a great home that you have there. I love the yard and all of the trees and I also love the shape of the house. You can tell it has some great history and character to it. There are also some really beautiful rooms inside. I love all the wood and the deep, rich colors throughout it.
