Bedroom on the Brain

I have been messing with different ideas for my bedroom. I am going to keep my bed, lamps, campaign desk and ghost chair. I keep going back to a red and navy color scheme. I really would love a neutral bedroom. No matter how hard I try, I am not a beige girl. In my next adult house, I have a feeling I will tone things down but right now I just want to have fun with patterns and colors.
Are you a sophisticated beige girl or do you gravitate towards color?

  1. Used this exact same post title last week! http://www.trianglehoneymoon.com/2012/12/01/bedroom-on-the-brain/ and I've totally ripped off your tapestry for our updates to our Master Bedroom. Love the mint green paired with the red and navy! That Tulu fabric swatched is saved to my desk top right now too - kindred spirits. Looks great!

  2. I think you should gravitate towards what you love! Especially when you are young- it's fun to play with color. You can always go with a more neutral palette later!

  3. I love a combination of white and one or two bold colors (orange or kelly green), but the husband is all about the navy blue and white. So our bedroom is white, cream and navy blue, but we added fun touches like a sheepskin rug.

  4. There's nothing wrong with loving color! If your space makes you happy, that's all that matters. I love the bold colors you chose for the pillows!

  6. Color color color every time. I tried to do calm neutrals when I first moved and was NEVER happy!

  7. I'm actually drawn to a lot of color but end up with beige. It makes me feel more peaceful which I crave in my busy life right now!

  8. I'm actually more of an all white girl with small pops of color. If you are drawn to color then you have to go with it.

  9. Totally agree, Jessie. I tried to tone it down when we renovated two years ago. Used more shades of white and IT'S SO BORING! Ended up being annoyed with it and painted my dining room Exuberant Pink by SWms. Also, the white shade walls are destroyed by my 3 kids. Go with color!

  10. I'm totally on your same page. I want to go the beige route so my bedroom is relaxing and calming, but I can't help picking out colorful things. I love the bohemian chic look you have going on!!

  11. I'm drawn to both. I like WAY too many styles, but I figure just go with what you like and mix, mix, mix.

  12. I admire those beautiful neutral spaces myself and find myself wisihing I could use more restraint myself, but in the end I always choose color! Merry Christmas!

  13. For the bedroom, well that's a lie, for most of it, I gravitate towards grey (my favorite color) and neutrals, but I LOVE this board! The dresser is wow! And I love the bed linens!

  15. I'm with you- color is like food to me. I have to have it around or else I will get tired and cranky- ha! I'm also mid-master bedroom makeover. I have the most ridiculous rug ever on the floor right now. You might like it too!!
