Farmer's Market

I am loving my new lens! I ended up going with the Canon 85 mm 1.8. Saturday Garison and I went to the Farmer's Market and I got to test it out.

Wish that the weekend was not over and I did not have to go to work this week :(

Surprise!

Yesterday Doug surprises me with an email confirming our flight to NYC in December. It is the best early birthday present ever. I have not been to NYC in years but the thought of being their during the holidays just makes me exicted. Speaking of Holidays...

I plan on wearing a lot of sequins, as usual. This little dress is perfect.

I did not credit the last two pictures because I cannot remember where I found them. I hate when people do not give credit but I saved a lot of images before I became blog savvy. Apologies.

I am currently looking for affordable wall paper I can frame and turn into panels for our dining room. The words "hand painted" and "affordable" just do not go together.

Dear Oprah,

I have your next guest and his name is Doug. True Life: I AM A HOARDER. Last night as we tried to clean out Doug's "man cave" this is what I found under piles of clothes and boxes of pennies. Not okay. Ever. I try really hard not to bother the "man cave". I am not allowed to offer suggestions of ways to organize or decorate. Last night he told me he is "tired of all the rules." He is referring to me telling him that having a 4 inch stack of dog hair is not okay. There was an intervention and hopefully this is the last time I find a small puppy after I sweep his room.

Couples Beach Weekend: Atlantic Beach

This weekend we went to my first ever "Couples Weekend". I use to think this was something that only old people do...kind of like appetizer parties until I realized I AM OLD. As long as I do not have to cook the appetizers or plan the couples weekends I think I could get use to this.

I need help!

Anyone have any suggestions for a good lens? I have a Canon Rebel xsi. I just have the stupid lens that came with the package. I have been doing reseach and found 2 different lenses that I am in love with. Any suggestions are helpful! What do you use?

Kitchens on the Brain

I do not want to get too excited but there have been some discussions about a kitchen renovation...a serious renovation, like knocking down walls and ish. It will not be in the near future-- I am thinking post wedding. Until then I am going to put up pictures of kitchens, dream, and figure out where you can register for a kitchen.

Can we please discuss these boots? I got them Friday and have not taken them off. They went to dinner on Friday, a cook out on Saturday, and I wore them to clean my house on Sunday.I seriously do not want to take them off. Go get them now. You will not be sorry.

a little advice: they run small. order a size up. they are really narrow in the legs. i usually wear an 8 and ordered a 39.

While confessing my love for Garison I should also give her credit for naming my blog. My mom tells this story over and over about her maiden name was LONG. She thought it was soooooo funny that my new name will be SHORT. The story always ends with "that is the long and short of it". Garison remembered this story because my mom loves to tell it and suggested it as a name for a blog. So between Deedra and Garison you got "The Long and Short of It".
